ABOUT US
The formation of Library Committee is an important task in any Library and it’s a need of an hours. The Library advisory committee perform the role of advising the library on its growth and development. It will also act as interface between the library management and the top management in the organisation and between the user’s groups. Library has advisory committee to exercise general direction, control, supervision and guidance. The Library Committee plays a vital role in enhancing and developing the library services.
Structure & composition of Library Advisory Committee
The MET SOA Library Advisory Committee is constituted by the Principal, MET’s School of Architecture and Interior Design. The LAC should represent the entire stake holders of the library. The Principal has the discretionary powers in nominating the members. Following are the members of the MET SOAID Library

Role of LAC
The LAC would meet at least once in each semester to review library affairs and the Minutes of the meeting shall be recorded and circulate to all members for consideration and approval. Once in three years this committee shall be reconstruct.
Library Advisory Committee meet and plan for the preparation of the library budget. Decisions regarding the weeding out of books, annual activities conducted by the library. The committee also discuss the recommendations made for books and subscription of library journals/periodicals. The Principal, Vice Principals, Head of departments recommended books to be purchased for the library. This is done in consultation with the departmental colleagues and recommendations from the students. The library advisory committee functions to upgrade the library to make it more students centric and to encourage self-learning among the students.
